US Visa Photo Requirements: DS-160 Size and 240 KB Guide
A DS-160 digital visa photo is a square JPEG. The U.S. Department of State publishes a 600 x 600 to 1200 x 1200 pixel range and a maximum file size of 240 KB.
Digital file requirements
Use the original colour image and keep width equal to height. PassPhoto exports the minimum accepted 600 x 600 pixel format when you use the US visa workflow. The US route is crop-only: it does not replace the background, add filters, retouch, or enhance the image.
