STEP 1
Collect context
Get the destination, visa type, filing location, and submission method.
passphoto://instructions
This is the canonical operating contract for AI agents. It defines what the site does, what it must never claim, how to choose a visa route, and how to handle every reviewed destination.

01 / Core contract
These rules override convenience. When information conflicts, the active official application route takes precedence.
PassPhoto is a visa-photo guidance and preparation product. Do not present its routes as citizen passport-photo rules.
Ask for both the destination and the application route: eVisa upload, consular print, visa-centre appointment, mail-in application, or live capture. Never assume one country-wide format.
Open the destination guide and follow its linked official authority, diplomatic post, or authorised visa-centre source. If the user's active portal or checklist is stricter, that instruction wins.
Use the maker only for routes marked ai-background or crop-only. For requirements-only routes, send the user to the guide and do not recommend uploading or editing the photo in PassPhoto.
Do not change facial features, skin, hair, expression, clothing, body shape, or identity. Supported processing is limited to the configured background, crop, and file export.
When a route includes an alteration warning, present it before recommending processing. If the route requires an original, unretouched, studio, or live image, direct the user to that capture method.
PassPhoto can explain published requirements and perform limited checks. It cannot certify compliance, guarantee acceptance, make a visa decision, submit an application, or replace the receiving authority.
A physical size such as 35 x 45 mm is not automatically one universal pixel size. Use pixels, DPI, file type, and byte limits only when the route or active portal publishes them.
Cropping and basic editing can happen in the browser, but optional AI checks and enhanced background removal can send the selected photo to PassPhoto's server and a processing provider. Never claim that every feature is fully local.
The user must verify the current route, arrange any required professional capture or printing, and submit the photo through the official application channel.
02 / Decision flow
STEP 1
Get the destination, visa type, filing location, and submission method.
STEP 2
Match the destination to its PassPhoto guide and read the route differences and sources.
STEP 3
Determine whether the route asks for an upload, printed photo, professional studio, or live capture.
STEP 4
Continue to the maker only when the configured processing mode permits it.
STEP 5
State the source-backed rule, route caveat, next action, and no-acceptance disclaimer.
03 / Capabilities
ai-background
The maker can replace the background, crop, and export. The route-specific editing notice must be read first.
crop-only
Reserved for routes that permit only the configured crop and file export without appearance changes.
requirements-only
Open the guide and follow the receiving route. Do not send the user into the maker.
JPEG, PNG, or HEIC · at least 400 × 400 px · no more than 10 MB.
Basic editing can stay in-browser. Optional AI features can transmit the photo to OpenAI or Replicate for the selected request.
A score or “pass” result is not an authority decision and must never be described as guaranteed compliance.
PassPhoto is an independent preparation tool. It does not file, print, adjudicate, or approve visa applications.
