Türkiye visa photo requirements

Check e-Visa eligibility first; sticker-visa photo sizes vary by filing location

The official e-Visa and sticker-visa systems are different routes. Sticker applications commonly use a white-background biometric photo, but published examples include 50 × 60 mm, 5 × 5 cm, and 2 × 2 inches. Use the instruction issued for your own mission or authorised visa centre.

Framing illustration only. Your application route controls.

Do not buy or prepare a photo before identifying the visa route. The public e-Visa guidance does not publish one standard photo upload, while sticker-visa instructions can require a digital pre-application image and one or two physical photos.

Route first

e-Visa and sticker visas do not use the same workflow

The Ministry portal checks eligibility from nationality and travel-document details. Its public guidance does not give one standard photo dimension or upload rule. Follow any additional condition shown after selecting your document.

The MFA pre-application system accepts uploaded application data and documents, then the mission or authorised centre completes the process with originals. Local guidance controls photo size, quantity, and whether a digital image is requested.

Appearance checklist

Use a natural, unedited biometric image

Use a colour image taken within the last six months.

Face the camera directly with the head upright and centred.

Keep a neutral expression, closed mouth, and fully visible eyes.

Use a plain white background with even lighting and no shadows.

Keep hair and accessories from obscuring any part of the face.

Use a sharp, natural image with no Photoshop or identity-changing edits.

Türkiye alteration note

Turkish MFA mission guidance for biometric photos explicitly says “without Photoshop.” Los Angeles publishes the same 50 × 60 mm biometric framework for visa applications. PassPhoto can still replace the background and prepare the crop, but the result may be rejected under that rule. It never changes the face or identity; check the official route before using the edited file.

Printing and submission are your responsibility

PassPhoto does not print or submit photos. Arrange the number and physical size named by your filing-location checklist, and complete the application through the official e-Visa portal, Turkish mission, or authorised visa centre.

FAQ

Türkiye visa photo questions

What size is a Türkiye visa photo?

50 x 60 mm is a common Turkish biometric format and is published by the Turkish Consulate General in Los Angeles. It is not universal for every filing location: Boston publishes 2 x 2 inches, while current Islamabad and Dushanbe instructions publish 5 x 5 cm for cited sticker-visa routes.

Does the Türkiye e-Visa require a photo?

The public Ministry e-Visa guidance describes an information-and-payment route and does not publish one standard photo upload. Nationality-specific conditions can appear after you select your travel document. Do not apply a sticker-visa print size to an e-Visa unless the official portal specifically asks for it.

What is the difference between e-Visa and sticker-visa photo rules?

The e-Visa uses the Ministry evisa.gov.tr route. Sticker visas use the visa.gov.tr pre-application system and are completed through a Turkish mission or authorised centre. Sticker routes commonly require a biometric upload during pre-application plus one or more physical photos at the appointment.

What background is required?

Official Turkish mission examples reviewed here specify a plain white background. Follow the current checklist for the mission receiving your application.

Can PassPhoto replace a Türkiye visa photo background with AI?

PassPhoto can replace the background, but Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs mission guidance for biometric photos explicitly says no Photoshop. The maker displays this note before processing; check your route before using the edited file.

Is 591 x 709 pixels the official Türkiye visa size?

No universal government pixel size was found. Approximately 591 x 709 pixels is only the mathematical conversion of 50 x 60 mm at 300 PPI. Use a pixel size only when the official application portal or local checklist explicitly publishes it.

How recent must the photo be?

Official Los Angeles, Salzburg, and Dushanbe guidance says within six months. Your image should still accurately reflect your current appearance.

Does PassPhoto print or submit Türkiye visa photos?

No. PassPhoto explains the published requirements. You arrange any required physical prints and complete the official e-Visa, mission, or authorised-centre submission yourself.
