Australian Immi App
Some biometrics requests use a VLN-based live facial-image app; other applicants must attend an Australian Biometrics Collection Centre.
Private 35 x 45 mm presets
Public photo services advertise 35 x 45 mm, 1200 x 1600 px, background changes, and acceptance-style claims. Treat those as private presets, not one universal Home Affairs visa rule.

What size photo do I need for an Australian visa?
Home Affairs does not publish one universal 35 x 45 mm or pixel dimension for all Australian visa applications. When ImmiAccount asks for a facial image, the general attachment guidance publishes a digital-photo file-size range of 70 KB to 3.5 MB. Follow the document list inside your own application because the route controls what is requested.
What is the ImmiAccount facial image file size?
Digital photographs should be between 70 KB and 3.5 MB. In the ImmiAccount attachment flow, select the applicant and choose Facial image as the document type for a visa photo.
What pixel dimensions does an Australian visa photo require?
The current general ImmiAccount attachment guidance does not publish a universal pixel minimum or 35:45 crop ratio for visa facial images. Use the file-size range and any more specific instruction shown for your application route.
Does a Visitor visa subclass 600 always require a new facial image?
The Visitor 600 document checklist asks for the passport pages showing your existing photo and identity details. ImmiAccount can also present a Facial image attachment slot, and Home Affairs can request biometrics or more information. Use the checklist and Actions required area in your own account rather than a generic photo template.
Can I upload a 35 x 45 mm photo for an Australian visa?
ImmiAccount evaluates a digital file according to the request shown for your application. The published general requirement is the 70 KB to 3.5 MB file-size range, not one universal physical size or pixel conversion.
Can PassPhoto resize or replace the background for my visa facial image?
No. Australia is requirements-only in PassPhoto because the safe capture method is unresolved across ImmiAccount facial-image requests, ETA live capture, Australian Immi App live facial-image collection, and biometrics. Use the official route instructions instead of an edited-output tool.
How is an ETA subclass 601 photo different?
The ETA 601 process uses the official Australian ETA app. Applicants scan the passport and take a live facial image with the mobile device during the app flow. A pre-made 35 x 45 mm file is not a substitute for that live capture.
Does every Australian visa use the same photo rule?
No. ImmiAccount may request a facial image as an attachment, ETA applicants use live capture in the official app, and some applicants are directed to biometrics. Follow the request shown for the visa route you are using.
Does the PassPhoto file checker prove acceptance?
No. It checks only whether the selected image file is within the published 70 KB to 3.5 MB range. It cannot determine whether your visa route requested that image, assess appearance or quality, verify identity, or predict a Home Affairs decision.
